It's all about the joy of creating something new, but here's the other thing....it's hard to duplicate! I experiment so much with colour mixes and additions, that often when I'm asked "how did you get that colour?" I can't provide an exact answer. It's like my grandmother telling me a recipe, I just add the amount that feels right.
So when a great friend of mine asked me to make a set of earrings to match a pendant I had in my store for his wife's Christmas gift, I low key panicked. Getting the right red with the balance of gold glitter seemed easy enough, but it was close to Christmas and if anything went wrong while the earrings were setting it would be back to the drawing board, and these require a two step process to create the levels of colour within the clear.
Luckily with good lighting, patience and knowing my colour collection I was able to recreate the same effect. Good thing too! As I was drilling the hole into the top of the earring to put in the screw... the screw broke inside the earring and I had to start again! Santa and his elves were definitely in my corner because the little package made it under the tree by Christmas eve with everything in tact :-)
